You host | We Pay
Scotspot® IOT
Host a Scotspot® IOT and support the decentralisation of web3 IOT projects in Scotland.
How it works
You host – we pay. It’s that simple.
You host one or more Scotspot® IOT devices + we pay you a 50% profit share as rent. You will be paid once a quarter in the crypto token (Helium IOT + Crankk CRKK).
All of our Scotspot® IOT devices will dual mine both Helium IOT and Crankk CRKK – supporting 2 networks from one device (+ maximising your rewards).
We supply + install the device + all the equipment needed. We just need power and an ethernet port on your internet router/switch.
Our IOT devices need to be mounted outdoors at height – ideally on the gable end of your property so the antenna has clear line of site (much like a TV aerial).
Scotspot® FLUX
Host or buy a Scotspot® FLUX and support the decentralisation of web3 compute power in Scotland.
What is Flux?
Run on Flux is a web3 project building out the decentralised infrastructure of the future. They are building services that provide the foundational compute power for the future of the internet. Think of google or amazon cloud – but fully decentralised and distributed across the world.
What you’ll need
To run a Flux node you will need a fast internet connection. The minimum download + upload speed is 25Mbps. In most cases this is only possible on a full fibre to the premises connection (sometimes called Ultrafast fibre).
Options
Host
If you live in Scotland you can become a Scotspot® FLUX host. We’ll supply + install the equipment, stake the node, then pay you 30% of the rewards as rent.
Buy
Buy a Flux node from us + install/setup yourself (or pay us to do it if you’re in Scotland). You then stake the node and run it yourself for 100% of the rewards.
Scotspot® FARM
Coming soon…
What is Scotspot® FARM?
Scotspot® FARM is a new offering that’s currently in Alpha development. It’s looking to combine the decentralisation of web3, with decentralised electricity and decentralised rural economy (prioritising local food supply).
Decentralised web3
Expanding on our Scotspot® offerings, we’ll be partnering with local businesses and farms in rural Scotland to setup micro data centres running web3 projects. This could be nodes (like Flux) or crypto miners.
Decentralised electricity
We’ll power these micro DCs (and hopefully the business/farm too) using renewable energy plants, setup on location. Not only providing clean energy for the Scotspot® FARM but also electricity resilience to reduce local dependency on the grid.
Decentralised economy
Using the revenue generated by the mirco DC + electricity generation we can unlock new business opportunities for the local community. This could mean creating CSA food growing organisations, community/startup workspace + incubation, community soil testing labs, food/drink production (brewing, fermenting, canning etc).
BONUS
We would design all systems to be circular, especially focusing on the heat recovery of the micro DC cooling systems.
Our vision is one where we can re-use the heat from the computers to create year round semi-passive greenhouses for community food resilience. Simplifying complex global supply chains to be micro supply chains at a community level.
